Code Enforcement Staff Apprecation Week



Whereas, The City of Fort Myers Code Enforcement Division is responsible for enforcement of the City’s Code of Ordinances, and these Codes have been adopted over the years to help protect the Health, Safety, and Welfare of all who live, work, or visit in our City through the enforcement of building, zoning, housing, property maintenance, animal control, fire safety, environmental and all other codes and ordinances; and

Whereas, our Code Enforcement staff are credited for the work that they do everyday in saving lives, decreasing crime, eliminating blight, maintaining property values, enhancing community empowerment, improving the quality of life within our neighborhoods, and generally providing a healthier City overall; and

Whereas, Code Enforcement staff consistently provide professional quality core level public services to an extremely diversified customer base, delivered in a fair and reasonable manner, yet remaining effective and efficient producing the results desired, and deserved, and at times even demanded, by their customers; and

Whereas, Code Enforcement staff are dedicated, well trained, and highly responsible individuals who take their jobs seriously and are proud of their department and The City of Fort Myers within which they serve so well; and

Whereas, the Florida Association of Code Enforcement (F.A.C.E.) has declared the first week of June be set aside by local government to honor and recognize their Code Enforcement staff;

Now, Therefore, be it proclaimed that I, Randall P. Henderson, Jr., as Mayor of the City of Fort Myers, hereby proclaim the week of June 6-11, 2010 as

Code Enforcement Staff Appreciation Week

in Fort Myers and encourage all citizens to show their appreciation for the level of dedication and commitment provided by the individuals who have chosen a career in public service through the Code Enforcement Division, which is often rewarded by knowing their daily efforts have actually made a positive difference.
