“Chief Doug Baker Has Big Buckets and He Does Not Lie”

On Wednesday, August 20, 2014 at 1:30 p.m. Police Chief Doug Baker accepted Sheriff Mike Scott’s “Ice Bucket Challenge” to raise awareness for ALS (Amyotrophic Lateral Sclerosis) also known as Lou Gehrig’s Disease. Sheriff Scott “called out” Chief Baker yesterday afternoon and gave him twenty-four hours to complete the challenge.

FMPD’s Detective Bureau Captain Duke Perry and Professional Standards Bureau Captain Dennis Eads had the honor of dousing Chief Baker with orange water coolers filled with icy water that had been marinating for 30 minutes.

After enduring the “slow pour” Chief Baker challenged Florida Gulf Coast University Police Chief Steven Moore and Florida SouthWestern State College Police Chief Rick Parfitt.
