Landlord / Tenant Disputes

Disagreements between property owners and their renters are often financial in nature. They are typically considered civil contract issues resulting from poor relationships between property managers and their tenants. However, they may have some legitimate code violations intertwined, which need to be resolved as well. Sometimes putting rental payments in escrow can be a useful tool to motivate the property owners to repair items they should be responsible for. Other times the tenant may be deemed responsible for correcting the situation and/or a combination of both. Please contact your Code Enforcement and Law Enforcement professionals in the beginning, before the dispute has a chance to escalate and get out of hand.
